A Bit About Therapy

My number one goal as a therapist is to provide a safe, nonjudgmental, and comfortable space in which to explore your concerns and discuss strategies that can help. Good therapy is collaborative, and it requires courage, vulnerability, and commitment. It's hard work, and it can empower you to live a happier and more meaningful life.

I work flexibly within the framework of evidence-based treatments, and because I believe that good therapy looks at the whole person, I tailor my approach to best meet the needs of each client.

Let's work together to reach your goals.

A Bit about Kate

I am a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Maryland with over ten years of experience. After receiving my Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Maryland, I worked for several years at Johns Hopkins Hospital, where I gained a thorough understanding of diagnostics and the importance of a collaborative approach to treatment.

I then turned my focus to outpatient practice and obtained additional training in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Exposure and Response Prevention, all evidence-based treatments.

Born and raised in Bethesda, I am very familiar with the stresses that adolescents, adults, and families face. Clients often comment on my warm personality, easy manner, and enthusiasm for the work I do. I am the proud mother of a lovely daughter, an avid reader, and an enthusiastic baseball fan.
